The regional Commander of the RPA-ABB ( Revolutionary Prolitarian Army – Alex Bungkayaw Brigade ) Daniel Batoy alias Mokong was killed in an ambush at Tina, Tangalan, Aklan while riding a motorcycle going home to Ibajay. With him was his daughter Ai-ai who was a high school student at Aklan College, Kalibo, Aklan.

Both the father and his daughter died on spot. His wife and sons Junior and Juniel were in a state of shock up to this time. Juniel is the Sangguniang Kabataan president, Ibajay chapter. Burial took place on September 4, 2004 at the municipal cemetery.
