INNER THOUGHTS

Quest
I search for love;
But sometimes, this is so elusive;
It’s a hair’s breadth away;
A little beyond my reach.
Keep Cool
If someone stepped on your toes,
And did not apologize;
Keep cool! He does not understand civility.
If someone smutched your name,
And did not express regret for something done or said;
Keep cool! He does not understand morality.
If someone hit you on your back,
Fight back not with your fists;
But with your wit.
He will then understand,
He is but just a dirty, empty can!
Cheating
Feigning you liked when you despised;
Isn’t cheating.
Acting you’re pleased when you’re bored;
Isn’t cheating.
Showing joy when you’re in pain;
Isn’t cheating.
Appearing you’re strong when you’re frail;
Isn’t cheating.
Waving goodbyes when you’re needing hellos;
Isn’t cheating.
Cheating is – pretending you understand when you don’t.
A Lifetime Treasure
You are gone…..
But for us, you never left;
You just went ahead
Into the caverns of men’s soul.
We did not lose you,
Although nothing seems the same;
Part of us went with you,
The day God called your name.
We can not see you…..
But we know, you’re someone near;
You do not see us grieve,
But we’re sure, you hear.
We will not forget you……
We will cherish the friendship we learned;
‘Though in our heart, there is pain,
Your memories will remain.
Hasta la vista, friend……
In time, we’ll see each other again;
And when our time on earth expires,
Be our guide……exploring paradise.
Speak up ……. Silence
Speak up, silence……
Tell them why there is solitude;
Why there is love;
And say, it’s not a dream
To love, to smile and to cry.
Speak up, silence…..
Tell them why some songs
Lose their rhythm and rhyme;
And why, there’s always hello
But sometimes….. no goodbye.
Speak up, silence…..
Shout the foolishness of a pride…..
Whimper the cry of a heart……
Tell someone the murmurs of love.
Silence, speak up…. And mend my broken heart!
What is a Friend?
A friend is ……….
The rainbow to amuse you when you’re discouraged;
The shock-absorber for your rage.
The ear to listen to all your sighs;
The hankie to dry your eyes.
The broom to sweep away your trouble;
The cushion to protect you when you tumble.
The mirror to show you reality;
The book to enhance your creativity.
The wine to sip when you’re euphoric;
The stick to whip you when you’re abusive.
The lock to your vault of secrets;
The traffic light to warn you of life’s interesting courses.
Free
I saw a cocoon on my window;
It wriggled for a while;
It’s a butterfly!
I watched it……
It watched me too; …..
Then it flew!
I guess… Alike my empty soul!
